Manfred Brunner is a Viennese comedian, cabaret artist, entertainer and author. People and their peculiarities, relationships and the small absurdities of everyday life provide the material for his comedy.

He does not need an invented stage character. On stage, Brunner is first and foremost himself — spontaneous, self-ironic, sharp-witted and unmistakably Viennese.

His performances combine stand-up, cabaret and storytelling, with direct interaction with the audience playing an important part. The result is entertainment that feels personal, alive and a little different every time.

An important part of his stage career is the Viennese cabaret duo Fleckerlteppich, founded together with Rob van Ros. Since 2011, they have developed comedy programs centred around people, contrasting personalities and the humorous side of everyday life.

Brunner's work goes beyond performing. Writing and developing comedy are also part of his creative work. For the production “Es lebe der Chat!”, he was responsible for the idea, script and direction.

In 2020, Manfred Brunner published his book “CORONA ... wos wüst von mia?” — “Aus dem Tagebuch eines Betroffenen”.

Across 204 pages and written in Viennese dialect, Brunner reflects on 46 days of quarantine. Real experiences meet fictional situations, everyday observations meet self-irony and distinctly Viennese humor.
